A new law ought to be prospective not retrospective in its operations.

Andrew now lives in Lancaster, but was brought up on a farm in Northern Ireland. After taking a degree in Law at the University of Ulster, Andrew crossed the Irish Sea to take a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law in Chester. He trained for two years with a firm in Blackpool and qualified as a solicitor in July 2006. He immediately moved to Joseph A Jones & Co to take up an appointment as an employed Solicitor. As an indication of the confidence the partners have in him, he became an Associate with the firm in July 2007 and a Partner in March 2011.

Andrew deals with residential, commercial and agricultural property transactions, including leases and landlord and tenant issues. He also deals with wills, trusts, probate and Inheritance Tax Planning and the affairs of elderly clients.

In March 2009, Andrew was appointed as a Notary Public by The Archbishop of Canterbury. As such he is able to undertake notarial work of all kinds, including the authentication of documents required in a foreign jursdiction.
